Authentic, Artisan Handcrafted with straps and fringes, they are made by a group of indigenous who live in La Guajira Peninsula in northern Colombia. Weaving is a traditional activity that has been passed down from their ancestors and is representative of their cultural identity. A mochila/shoulder bag/purse or “knapsack” is a handmade bag unique to the woman who weaves it. Each mochila is hand-made by one woman and each woman has her own signature. 100% cotton. Each bag has its own character with different colors and patterns.Typical motifs are geometrical figures that represent the natural elements-aniamal,plants-stars. The Wayuu method of weaving is a complex form of art done entirely by hand. Their weaving knowledge is passed down from mother to daughter for generations . It takes a female between 30 to 60 days to hand weave a mochila. Love, respect for Mother Earth and ancestral wisdom are all transmitted into the weaver's needle and forever cherished in the Mochila's essence. No two will ever be exactly alike. Dimensions of the bag are approx 12 inches tall x 14 inches wide. The shoulder strap is approx 3 inches wide and 42 inches long. Weaving is a craft that is associated with agricultural communities. In particular, the Wayuu bag is a craft made by Wayuu artisans from the indigenous community that lives in the Guajira peninsula in Colombia.

Handmade Colombian Hat, known as  "SOMBRERO VUELTIAO" The sombrero vueltiao or sombrero vueltiado is a traditional hat  from Colombia and one of its symbols. It is made out of Gynerium sagittatum known locally as caña flecha, a type of cane that grows in the region. The quality of the hat is determined by the number of "laps" used and it’s bending flexibility. The more flexible the hat is the higher  quality it is. The "19 Vueltas", as the name suggests, uses 19 pairs of caña flecha strips to produce a finer braid that will result in a softer and  finer sombrero. It can take up to a week to produce by hand. The "21 Vueltas" uses 21 pairs of caña flecha strands per weave and is finer than the Quinciano and the Diecinueve. These hats are usually custom-made to order and take 10 to 15 days to produce by hand. The "23 Vueltas" is made of 23 pairs of caña flecha strips. The Veintitres, like the Veintiuno, is very fine and notably softer and lighter than the above.
